Position Duties: DUTIES: Shoot, report and edit videotape of news, weather, sports, entertainment, community and other informational stories. Work independently when necessary. Work creatively with anchor/reporters and content producers to package stories. Organize video for broadcasts. Operate all editing and recording equipment. Operate live equipment. Display high journalistic standards. Edit stories, series, and special projects. Work with reporters and producers to package stories.
Work Schedule: HOURS/SCHEDULE: Full-time, schedule dependent on experience. Must be available for events and projects outside of the regular hours and remain flexible to schedule changes due to spot news, holidays, vacations, sick leave and other news events.

Required Education: EDUCATION: Minimum two years college or trade school with emphasis on Radio/TV or Journalism. Minimum one year of news photographer experience. Prefer two years of experience small to medium market as videotape editor. Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two years of experience equals one year of education.

Skills Required: SKILLS: Record sound and pictures on video for broadcasts, displaying awareness of the elements of good photojournalism. Employ keen lighting skills. Stay in contact with Assignment Desk throughout shift. Coordinate with Assignment Desk and Reporter; communicate ideas for specific story assignments. Apply editing skills for stories. Organize video for broadcasting. Avoid potential technical problems. Work with other departments to ensure smooth presentation. Maintain awareness of current events, technology and terminology. Receive satellite, microwave and fiber optic feeds as necessary. Edit stories for news broadcasts. Check run downs and edit stories in order of importance. Download video to server for daily editing. Locate all field tapes for future editing. Perform other job related duties as assigned, including driving automobile for company business.
Skills Preferred: SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the operation of a company vehicle for company use, a copy of a current driving record must be provided with the employment application during the time of an interview. A driving record can be obtained from your local tag agency. At the time of hire, all employees are required to provide documentation of employment eligibility to work in the United States.
